Picture request: Dark Bamboo trim in black interior
I am looking to switch the "Fine Burr Walnut" trim currently in my X5. It is simply to "woody" and too light for an otherwise dark colored vehicle. The driver door trim has some very odd markings on it from the previous owner, like maybe a dog had rested its paws there?
The pictures I have seen of the Dark Bamboo trim make it appear darker and subtle compared to the walnut. I found a few pictures in the forum but often it was only two or three at limited angles and I'd like to get some more pictures. If you have this trim, could you take a few pictures and post them here. Show me how handsome Dark Bamboo can be in a black interior. While I prefer a black interior any pictures would be helpful. Thank you! |
I love it.I will take some good pictures tomorrow. And I have a complete set from dark bamboo trim pieces from part scar.

Thank you. I look forward to seeing the pictures.

A good % of X5's have the bamboo trim - have you tried Google or perhaps Autotrader? Countless pictures out there…
Agreed though, the bamboo looks much better than the burl walnut. |
I have looked on car selling sites and performed Google searches. A lot of the search results are for people selling a single piece of trim or stock photos of the interior and very few are of all black interiors. Even fewer are of an "entire" interior or maybe of the passenger side sitting in the driver seat, for example.
As far as the car selling sites, I really don't trust the people putting together the advertisements enough to get the trim name right and some of the trims can look very similar so how can I know for sure that I am actually seeing Dark Bamboo Trim? Further, those pictures are usually taken under bright lights or artificial lighting that tend to wash out the richness of the colors, at least to my eyes. By starting this thread I'm hoping that I can get some pictures of people who KNOW that they have Dark Bamboo Trim and then I will know I am looking at Bark Bamboo Trim when I look at the pictures. I am not asking anyone to go have a professional photo shoot done or anything (unless they are a professional photographer or want to!) but if people take pictures of the trim in conditions that they think it looks best, invariably I should get some very good photos that will help me make a decision. The few pictures I have seen have prompted me to study this trim further. Now I just need to be convinced. |

Try a carbon fiber film, like 3M DiNOC -Wu! Wraps Custom Automotive Wraps FINALLY HERE FOR e70 owners!! - Bimmerfest - BMW Forums. Great color choices. Best part is that it can be removed with no adverse affects if/when you sell or get tired of it. |

I know it will not be easy but I don't care. If I were to wrap the trim, it wouldn't be with carbon fiber and I would remove the trim pieces anyway so I might as well get real trim in the color that I want. |
Agreed. Anything worth doing is worth doing well...
