M Sport Steering Wheel Retrofit --

Now I got this off wheel off of eBay for only $380!! (best offer price down from $480), and followed some E90 DIY I found from boneca's "Another M Steering Wheel Retrofit post" ...I had the standard sport wheel so needed nothing else besides the wheel. (used airbag and switches I had previously)

Quite simple swap honestly, I have no experience with this whatsoever and completed everything from disconnecting battery to reconnecting it in about an hour.

Wheel came in 4 business days from LATVIA to US (very fast) and the quality is absolutely amazing. Basically to explain exactly what the wheel is, it is an OG standard E70 or E71 sport wheel, with a Flat bottom (great looking), rewrapped sides and M trim cover in Alcantara (includes M tricolor stitching) as well as the other parts in a much softer and thicker than original --Nappa leather -- does not compare to the dakota leather that comes on the OG sport steering wheels..

See pictures and let me know what you guys think!

in your 3rd picture it looks like the passenger side of the airbag isnt all the way in.
i was looking at that exact wheel from latvia for a while, but i found on my E93 where i got a wheel from that seller, that it is very hard to get rid of these custom wheels when it is time to sell.
the OEM performance wheels go alot easier, which is what i decided to get this time around.
I was also afraid of that one being too thick

the airbag was all the way in, not sure why it looks that way...
--if it's very hard to get rid of them I wouldnt be too worried I believe for the price I got it for I would get at least something back on the investment.
would have gotten the regular M sport wheel but like the feel of the alcantara much better and saved myself about $200.
it is quite thick but not too thick--Still very nice feeling in the hands and easily maneuverable.

Looks good.

I was considering swapping out the sport wheel in my E53, best deal I could find on the contoured alcantara/leather ///M stitched wheel was almost $500 (that's even swapping airbag and switches). Too steep for me.

scratch what I said about the airbag being all the way.. I slammed that horn 100 times so I thought there was no way it couldn't be. meanwhile, I go drive the car today and lean up to fix my seating position and notice it's totally out of whack. gave it one good hit and it's all in place. (also fixed a tiny squeaking noise I was hearing with the new wheel making me very happy) thanks!!!!!

on eBay my wheel was listed at $480. I gave it a shot and messaged the seller asking for a $380 deal. couldn't believe it but he agreed and the wheel was here 4 days later. you never know if you don't ask!

I'll give that a shot, If I can find one with a "make offer" listing.

I wear XXL gloves, need a FAT wheel!

actually the one I bought my listing under was not even a make offer listing, I was just able to eBay message the seller and offer the lower price (which he accepted verbally) and then dealt with the transaction via paypal. the sellers username was ledermanz. and actually lol I have pretty small hands--this was the last thing I needed but it's been great so far (driven about 100 miles with it so far)
