F15 X5 35D sport package
 

Hey guys I’m interested in purchase a 2017-18 BMW X5 35D sport/M package
Upon my research I found several issues regarding HPFP and also diesel exhaust filter( not sure if it’s the correct one) that can cost up to $4k in repairs.
Love the vehicle but, I want to be ahead of the game by knowing what’s the most common and major issues to look out for when considering this vehicle and is it a reliable ???

Are these not covered under warranty?

Not everything. To my knowledge the HPFP is.... not sure about the dpf system and what if I purchase the vehicle yrs later?? I was hoping to get a step by step pre-preventive maintenance list on things to do before it happens.

I know the E70 is a different chassis but a majority of diesel components are under 10 year /120k mile warranty. I had the NOx sensor replaced for free as recent as last May.
