E70 wheels will not work with F15

Just found this on another forum. Someone asking a BMW tech at the X5 launch in Vancouver

Will the wheels from an E70 fit the F15?
The F15 has a different RDC (tire pressure monitor) system than the E70. As a result, BMW does not recommend using E70 wheels/tires on the F15.

My take from the tech's answer is that the TPMS sensor from E70 will not work on F15. We don't know if the wheels are direct fit or not.

F15 wheels will fit on an E70/E70M and vice versa
Just order new TPM or deal with the light

Just for clarity, E70 and E70M have different hub sizes and it is well known that you have to modify the E70 rims to work on the E70m. That being said, I would still research before you commit to the previous statement.

Correct, the CB is a 74.1 which is the modification you have to do. Open up the center bore so the wheels become hub centric as most BMW wheels are the standard 72.6 CB. We had to figure this out the hard way a while back but they look great once done! We have sold a few wheels for the F15 chassis.

Fit. Just need to bore out rear wheel to 74.1 from 72.6

Does this mean the front CB of F15 is 72.6mm and the rear CB of F15 is 74.1? Just like E71 X6's setting?

No, they are 74.1 all the way around

Thanks for clarification.

Well got my F15 and put my old E70 snow wheels on after dealership installed new TPMS sensors in the rims. All is good, it works.
