2014 BMW X5 F15 Design
 

I don't know why people dislike the new X5 so much. I think the car is good looking inside and out. I was never a big fan of the E70 (although the LCI made it look better). Anyways I would by the new X5 any day. What are your guy's thoughts?

I saw that color outside at my dealer today and I hate to admit it actually looked pretty nice. The previous black one I drove didn't do much for me.

Dressed with the M Sport package and 20"s the F15 is a looker, I will definetely order one.

Have an M Sport on order now. Expect it in a few weeks.

Bought an M-sport w/20" rims for wife a few weeks ago.

I looked at the F15, and don't mind the style at all. It is different than the E70, but that is a good thing. Main problem for me is that the payload has been reduced, and increased payload would be one reason to get one. Thinking maybe a VW Touareg next.

Thanks. Noticeable more comfortable ride than my E70. Feels bigger and less sporty, but overall a very good cruiser and 3 kid hauler. Wife had a blast at the PCD. I've done it a few times, so nice for her to experience.

To me its just subtle changes here and there. Nothing major so no it
would not keep me from getting one. I opted to get a 2013 because
would be cheaper and not have to deal with the first teething pains.

have had several BMW and changes to me have never been that
great like in american cars. Which I like. You can pick out a BMW
even if 2 models back.

Also to get all the options I have on my 13 it would have cost me 5K
more at least. Some are expensive pkgs now.

In the pic by the OP, that front end looks like the high school Star Trek wanna be set designers were on that job...the front end of the white M version in Atlx's pic is a much more intergrated, less busy and refined look, imo.

The off color/non-matching 'silver' rocker panels and front end lip are from a RAV 4 from a decade ago, imo. Add in the 'chrome' window surrounds in that first pic, that the soccer Mom's won't notice, or care about.

All my 50Cts, as I am not in the mkt, but it has been interesting to see the new MYs and versions over the past 12+ years.

Yes. It does feel more like a Lexus to me. Problem is it doesn't have Lexus levels of reliability.

Basically an evolution of the E70. Both cars look nearly identical; which makes me wonder why so many people hate this design.

Haven't seen anyone do this, so how about side-by-side comparison? )
Took a couple shots while at last service for my E70 35d.

Because they just bought an e70 :rolleyes:, I hate it too, now my X5 looks outdated! :rofl:

To me, it is simple, the new one is rounder and has lost it's styling edge. Looks more like a grocery getter (more feminine) and less like a highway dominator (less masculine).

Hmm....., Femenine grocery getter... :dunno:

I guess that's why god makes people with different colored bellybuttons. Everybody can have their own favorites.

BMW may be wanting to add more sales to women? I see far more x3s driven by fems and more x5s driven by men. For their macho appeal I think they are counting on the x6.

Maybe I am confused on the different models, but the fronts ends posted in recent posts look pretty damn good; they look nothing like the OP's initial post and pic, however.

That front end looks like a China rip off version of E70 ala Star Trek, with the half dozen plus vents, surfaces, stuff and doo dads; the other styles look good, fwiw.

No dog in the fight, as an F15 isn't on my list of wants, or wanted cars, even if I hit the Mega Millions, :rofl:

The original picture I posted was the X Line model while the recent posts were all M Sport models.

Saw the F15 at night for the first time yesterday. Driving next to me, loved the headlights and tail lights. Also saw the blue accent lighting inside. I was impressed.

Looks like Bangle gave it 7 series eyebrows..what a shame.

I'm looking for a muscular 2014 X5 M 550hp but a guess that ain't gonna happen.

BMW you should sell to Audi and I HATE Audi. Their making fire breathing super cars now and could figure out how to make a X5 super car.

No the F15 "does not" make the E70 look out dated at all.
Anyone outside of a die hard BMW fan would not notice the
difference. I saw the spy photos and decided not enough
change to pay 5K more. If look at the two off in a distance
can not tell the change.

Now the corvette C6 to C7, that is a change and will admit
it make my C6 look obsolete. But the quality control and mechanicals
issue Chevy is having, I would not want t 2014. They seem to be
running them off the line and onto a truck without checking. Some
don't even have fluids in them.

In looking at the rear of the F15 what do not like, is how the tailgate
sinks in more to the bumper. That looks like lexus gx or 4Runner. Do like
the E70 better on how it flows.

Saw a metallic black F15 at the ski slope today and I like it better in real life then in the pictures. It is similar enough to the e70 that few will actually realize they are not the same car.

I agree that the e70 is edgier in styling but I also think it will grow on me.

Agreed, better than the pics! Also I think the F15 feels more solid the E70, more like the E53. I just has a nice build quality about it. I drove a diesel also. Pretty sweet.

Its new right now. So the new kid on the block gets praise till you're really with it
for awhile. Than its old news till the next update or model comes out.

I didn't like the E53 styling, prefer the F15. I think the E70 is better than both and easily the best looking SUV BMW has ever made. Better looking than the bangle generation of cars too.
