X6 Intro and spy pics
BMW X6 - Sports Activity Coupe (SAC)
The car will be labeled as SAC = sport activity coupe. Sport for performance, activity for higher ground clearance & AWD, coupe for shape. Space will not be the issue - car will be able to carry 4 people & their personal luggage comfortably. It won't be a utility vehicle, but a sports coupe with a higher seating. Kind a all purpose coupe. BMW sees X6 as a Porsche Panamera, Mercedes CLS, AM Rapide etc competitor. When MB & Co. are presenting bold idea - 4 or 5-door coupes, BMW are going even further: presenting 5-door all purpose activity coupe. Engines ranging from a V-8 with either 340 hp or 450 hp, to a V-10 with 612 hp which will get the ///M badge. X6 test mules as shown below look like X5. http://www.ewanskelly.net/galleries/.../BMWX50102.JPG http://s113117221.onlinehome.us/Images/X6-SAC.jpg http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/s...2_BMWX_450.jpghttp://www.automotorundsport.de/sixc...1_BMWX_355.jpg Quote from BMW sources. That looks like the new X5 to me Sunil:dunno:

I don't know, this sounds like the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. :dunno:
|
Reminds me of a SAAB sedan.....5-door with hatchback....did SAAB ever make AWD cars? I remember SAABs were FWD cars.
|
OK maybe I'm off my rocker but why do the test mules look nothing like the pics from the Magazine?

I like the Red One in the drawing, though sorta
FX45 ish. I suspect that 50G Euro "base" translates to about $65-70G+ USD, when one shops for a decently optioned one, here in the US. |

Its a pretty common practice for automakers... Take a look at this... Porsche used M5's as its cover while testing the Panamerica's underpinnings... http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...ype-spy-photos Or even earlier, porsche used Cayennes to test out Panamerica mules... http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...era-spy-photos |
