May see the concept as early as Frankfurt show and release early next year. First BMW to get bi-turbo V8. More expensive than X5.
The grille and fascia will be different than shown in the pic.

Just one more rung in the evolution of every vehicle becoming an SUV/Hybrid :)

And one more attempt by BMW to up the value of its line :) .... not that there i anything wrong with that :(

Not a big fan of its overall looks. Don't like the mesh gap under the grill or the foglights. I especially hate the Y spoke rims.

I also found this on Bimmerfest http://www.greenvilleonline.com/apps...WS01/703150320

Not sure if this has been posted before. So far, from what people have said about this upcoming X6, it seems that it may have a few new goodies (over the current E70 X5) such as the new xdrive system (with flexray technology), ZSG (dual clutch gearbox instead of the advanced steptronic) and the new v8 (with the bi-turbo).

That is an old chop. But those fog lights you can notice on the test mules.

BMW says one of two new models it will make from 2008 will be built in US
(Updating with US plant background, China plans)

MUNICH (AFX) - Bayerische Motoren Werke AG chief executive Norbert Reithofer said one of the two new model models it will make in 2008 and beyond will be produced at its US plant in Spartanburg.

Reithofer told reporters the car model in question is the X6.He said production levels at Spartanburg in South Carolina are expected to be at more than 200,000 units per year in the medium term.
The Spartanburg plant currently produces the X5 SUV and the Z4 car.

Chief Financial Officer Stefan Krause said at the annual results news conference the company has already hedged more than 50 pct of its risk exposure to US dollar exchange rate changes for this year, while hedging less for the Japanese yen. He did not provide further details.

Commenting on China, Reithofer said BMW would expand manufacturing capacity in China earlier than planned, but did not disclose a specific date.

I'm sure it'll be priced out of my league, but if it looks like these pics, I'm gonna start saving my pennies. I think it looks great!
