Updated info

Well, I spent 4 1/2 hours yesterday getting to know the new X6 quite well. I took place in a focus group where they had a RR Sport, 2007 X5, Porsche Cay, Intiniti FX and the X6.

We were asked to evaluate everything, and I mean everything about the interior and exterior styling of each car. At the end, 8 of us sat at a round table and were asked a series of questions for 2 hours. He asked us detailed questions in regards to our answers.

Their focus was on the rear of the car as well as the back seats. By the way, this car was a 2+2, NO seating for 5 in this one.

The X6 was very much a prototype meaning nothing worked (dials were not functional, plexi windows...).

I looked at the pics you guys posted and this one pretty much is dead on from what I saw yesterday: http://www.xoutpost.com/x6-e72-forum/...-autobild.html

From what I have heard that the front and rear bumper and taillights treatment is more like CS concept.

This is why if you re-read my post again you'll notice that I didn't include any information that wasn't already shown or made available, nor did I give my opinion on the car. ;)

Again, I didn't already make anything available that we didn't already know on this forum...

I hope LM is right in that the back looks like the CS concept. I never liked the way the Lexus SUV looked, especially the back and the photoshop above looks like they stole the butt straight from Lexus. ;puke;

I was teasing you...I'm busting a gut. I walked in and said...Damn, that's an X6.

LeMansX5 04-23-2007 12:02 PM

You could have had a mini-X5world meet there.

Wonder what JS_4.8 had to say?

JS_4.8 04-23-2007 01:11 PM

Haha Lemans, I guess one of the perks of being a mod is to be able to see deleted posts lol.

Actually, I was adding that I also may have participated in this "study". Deleted my post though after realizing we did sign confidentiality disclosures. And thats all Im gonna say about that!

cmyX6go 04-23-2007 01:15 PM

I will say I was disappointed it wasn't interactive. Just you, a clipboard and your thoughts. I would have enjoyed sharing my opinions with a real live BMW person.

I was there Sunday. Pretty dull crowd. Even the interviewer said that there was a good crew of people on Saturday but the Sunday peeps were all pretty uptight....except for me, I made up for all those boring folk.

How does one get invited to these things?

I got a questionaire in the mail :dunno: I guess they pull the names of model owners that live within the area that they are conducting the study.

TRAINER 04-23-2007 04:25 PM

They called me up on the phone 3 days before. EZ way to make $300 if you ask me!

chris24 04-23-2007 04:28 PM

Makes sense. I assume they sought out owners of the various vehicles (X5, Cayenne, FX45, etc...), or did it seem like all BMW owners?

No, there were owners of all the vehicles that were there.
