Defintiely, I doubt you will ever see a BMW without this.

This is how the Hofmeister kink will be. Its funny that these auto journalists and their artists do not know that or trying to get attention.

Hmmm, the one I saw had more of a bangle butt hump. I want to see it and drive it.

What do I do? The X6 won't be in the showroom until January, right? I'm up in January. If I wait until then to test drive and order I'll be into March I guess. I wonder if I can order and if I don't like it not take it...:confused:

Rent a car from Enterprise for 2 months... I bet you can get a good monthly rate on just about anything you see on their lots. That'll safely buy you some time.

I personally would be talking to your dealer NOW about trading in for the X6. They will either take your current X5 off your hands as part of the trade (eliminates your problems) or want to reevaluate the trade when you do actualy changeover. If they take it now you need to obviously go and find a rental, but as the rental cost is offset by your lease payments being finished, it's a sideways move (ish), (oh, and depends how 'spoiled' ya get! http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k178/LVR_2006/lol.gif)

Do a deal now and get better trade, swing lease payments over to a rental and choose what ya want!

Your worst case scenario; If you don't like the X6 when it arrives, switch to the X5!

Now that you brought it up, it does look like the amc. I was wondering why the X6 looked so familiar.

That's what the X5 looked like in my mind, a jacked-up 5 series wagon, when they just introduced it back in 1999. I never thought I would like the X5 or even want to drive an SUV/SAV. But it ultimately grew on me and it fits my needs. So I ended up buying an '04 almost 5 years later. It's hard to predict what people will like or dislike.

If that's the final version, I will go ahead and predict it will sell than than 15K units a year in the US. Maybe some of the Europeans will like it, but I do not see the typical US consumer (even a BMW-biased one) wanting to ante up for that thing.

Regardless of what the final sheet metal looks like, that black fender cladding has to go. It doesn't look right on a sedan. Tell that to the boys in Munich, Scott.
