It says 2009 X6 :saad: I guess that's my answer. They wouldn't release a '09 in 1Q '08. I have a feeling I won't be using cmyx6go anytime soon.

PLAYERPRO 10-01-2007 03:37 PM

ah.. the way I saw it lulu.. probably late 2008(sept/oct) then they will "market then as 2009's or.. heck it will launch sometime in 2009 and then the hybirds a year after 2010... so Keep youR head up!!!

I lease so I called BMWFinancial and they mentioned they will be very open and flexible with lease extensions month to month,6mos or 1 year...

anything is possible...

cosmos 10-06-2007 01:07 AM

This is in check with what I have been told.

BMW has and can produce the next MY as early as March the previous year.

FYI: BMW released the 2008 e60 Facelift 5 series in 3/07.

Release dates for the X6 look like this.

3/08 for X6 6cly.
7/08 for V8.
??? Hybrid. (I was told that it should be 9/07 for release, but its still up in the air.

CGSTL 10-06-2007 01:16 AM

Is that July release a twin turbo V8?

Yes, 7/08 for TT V8

CGSTL 10-08-2007 11:34 AM

My dealer said the the TT V8 for the E70 would be coming out close to the TT V8 for the X6. I guess that's why we're seeing the engine mule in the E70 rather than the X6 - kill two birds with one stone.

I wonder which I6 the X6 will get off the bat.

LeMansX5 10-08-2007 01:09 PM

To best of my info X6 starts with 2008 MY but 2009 is also a possibility and cosmos is right, BMW have used next year as early as 1st of March. e.g. E90 and E60 facelift.
BMW is moving towords 2 LCIs(see my earlier post) so 2009 is candidate for X5 facelift and new stuff.

Just got a call from my salesguy. He was in a meeting this morning. Availability will be announced at the Detriot Auto Show in January, production to begin shortly thereafter. TT I6 (360 hp) will be in showrooms April and TT V8 (407 hp) in June/July. Probably won't have pricing until after Detriot sometime.

407hp is less than what the naturally aspirated M3 V8 makes. I'd expect the turbocharged V8 in the X6 to make beyond 500hp.

TRAINER 10-08-2007 02:21 PM

WOW, an MX6, where have I heard of that before? Hmmm..

Could they have lowered the HP and increased the Torque because it's a heavy SAC? Less high-end on the revs and more grunt down in the lower end?

I do have the new car bug and I wish it was sooner but what am I going to? I will settle for something just because my lease is up. I want to be excited about a new car. I wonder how BMWFS is going to feel about extending 6 or 7months. I gotta have a V8 :D

My X is in perfect condition. I just turned 35K miles today. I put brand new Scorpion Ice and Snows on her in Feb and took them off in March

Besides, June or July seems like a good time of the year to do performance center delivery.

If they lowered it that much, top end performance would be nonexistant. Plus, they can have both since they're using VGT's. You can throw conventional thinking out the window out once you start using them. :)

No MX6. Remember Z4 ///M. X6 ///M .

cmyX6go 10-08-2007 04:20 PM

Correction

My bad. They did not say exactly what the hp would be on the V8. Salesguy is thinking 407 is on the light side and it would probably be in the 450 range. I repeated what I was told at the consumer group I went to a few months back.

I6 is correct at 360 hp.

:sorry:

TRAINER 10-08-2007 05:22 PM

SHeesh, that 360 ttV6 may just walk away from my 06 4.8...

Is it still a 3.0 liter engine? Cause the current 3.0 Twin Turbo is 306 hp (probably less in the U.S. since the 3.0si is 272 hp here vs. 260 hp in America). Sounds like a substantial increase…

People who reflash their current 335i's easily get 360hp. It's turbcharged..not that hard to get more power.

Wagner 10-08-2007 06:40 PM

what's that burning smell, oh that is your oil

400 bhp is about right....it will be nowhere near 500 bhp. The M3 is the wrong comparison.

M3 engine is a much higher state of tune than the V8 TT that will go in the X5. It's a completely different engine and has very different characteristics it's tuned to produce high horsepower at high revs to the detriment of torque which is not what you want in the X5.

A good comparison would be the 335i and the 330i....the twin turbo engine there only produces 30bhp more. It does however produce 400 nm of torque at 1300 rpm versuse 320 nm at 2750 rpm which is a huge difference.

To best of my info. Perhaps you know that M6 is getting a power boost on the CSL edition. Its definetily a first for ///M and they choose X6 rather than X5 as X6 is more sporty.

cosmos 10-13-2007 12:48 AM

When will the M6 CSL be out?? and What new V10???!!!! I need as much info as you can type please!!
