Roof Rails - Yes or No?
From some angles I really like them and find that it makes the X6 look meaner, but other times I am not so sure. What do you think?
With? http://images.motortrend.com/feature...MW_X6+rear.jpg http://images.motortrend.com/feature..._X6+grille.jpg Or without...? http://images.motortrend.com/feature...W_X6+cones.jpg http://images.motortrend.com/feature...ear_corner.jpg |
I think I like "without" better, but both look OK.

For looks or utility?
If utility matters, consider the amount of curvature in the rails, they don't look very functional. (I must learn to refrain from comments with 'functionality' and 'X6' in the same post). |
Nah, looks dumb with or without them

Looks better to me with the tape on .

The X6 has tracks in the roof that can be used to fit conventional roof rails, so I could still carry stuff on the roof if needed, but I have this nagging sense that these BMW roof rails add a little something.. |
They've done a nice job with the shape of the rails that it looks bland without them.

I too am unsure about the roof rails.
I think they will look better on darker colours, grey/black/blue. On lighter colours silver/mineral/white I would say definately no. On VR it could work either way. At this moment, I don't think i'll be opting for them. |
My reading of the german price list suggests they are removable and so if this is correct (my German isn't that good!) then you get the best of both workds anyway.

without.
and remember the hybrid's ones are bright chrome, which is pretty ugly. |
