Camo'ed X6 on a Flatbed
I snapped these pics about 31/2 wks ago on the backside of the BMW Plant in Upstate SC.I can take some backroads to my house that route me around the BMW plant. This flatbed pulled out of an area referred to as "Special Vehicle Operations".The area is separate from the main BMW campus. The "Special Vehicle Operations" bld is small brown "Butler Style" metal building w/ what appears to be a very high security entrance gate and 3 or 4 strands of razor wire about 8' tall around the entire facility.BMW apparently does not want anyone poking around this bld.Inside the facility were two very large, enclosed on all sides, outdoor party type tents. These tents were set up in what appeared to be the parking lot and part of the rear property of this facility. These were big tents-maybe 80'feet long by 30' feet or so wide. You can't really get very close to this area,it has a long narrow driveway w/ no place to turnaround once you get to the gate.I caught up w/ the flatbed as it exited this facility. No question it was an X6 on the flatbed. The truck drove no more than a couple of thousand feet and entered one of the Plants main entrances. It stuck me as a little odd that BMW would flatbed this X6 such a short distance and have it fully camo'ed.Just wondering what was underneath that camo.....It could have been a finished production model heading to the Detroit Auto Show. Not real sure.I'm very curious as to what goes on in the "Special Vehicle Operations" Building.I need to ask some of my plant contacts and see if they will fess up.Could it be a one off "X6 M" heading to Germany for testing? I'l keep my eyes peeled. Thanks Palbay
