Take a look at this product:

It's showing on the US website, but not available in UK as it's under testing....

Are mountain bikes different in the US then ??:bustingup

Also, i can't understand how it is mounted, if you look at the silver rear undertray section, it looks like the flap slides down to allow fitting of the rack, haven't checked yet, but i don't think that bit moves on my car:dunno:

Need a good rack asap, it's not as easy getting my bikes into the back of this car, as it was in the X5.

Well I guess that there is a hole like on all cars used to screw in the thing (can't come up with and english word for it) to ehich you can then fit a rope and pull other car or so ... and there are apparently 2 of these holes on on each side as standard, and they are strong enough to hold a bike carrier. Btw. I have seen a bike carrier which was mounted the same way to an X5. And I think that you can quickly disconnect it from one side in order to allow opening of luggage compartment. See the picture where it is highlighted.
