Doesn't the HUD in the M5 also show the RPM gauge? Do note that this isn't available in the X5. But still vote for the the HUD over active steer.

The active steering was too artificial for my liking.

Yes, HUD does display RPMs and I realize this is not available on X6 but I still have decided against active steering and went with HUD. Will be really neat at night time.
