Ride height X6

Guys,

question to you: why do some x6 look lifted with the 20" alloys and some look lowered? can't imagine people going for after-market suspension? or is it the adiaptive drive that lowers the car?

example of high ride:

example of a low ride:

thanks for oyur help...

Don't know about your lowered example but this is what I call lowered
H&R springs lower by 35mm.

Thanks for the pics...

But question to you: do you think the ride height is lower because of adoptive drive?

I don't think they are different ride heights. Maybe it's just the angle you look at the x6 from. When you look from the bottom angle like the first pic it looks bigger and in the second one from the top it looks lower.

clearly looks like you need to have an aftermarket suspension so that the wheels dont look too small on the x6...

I think it's just the lighting in your pics, X6 doesn't have have height adjustment. adaptive drive just stiffens the suspension.

The picture of the black X6 has H&R Sport springs installed which lower the over all ride height on the vehicle increasing handling and taking away some of the 4x4 look in the wheel well. I am going to add them once my new X6 gets here next weekend.

Shenard,
I know lowering will increase handling any idea how much of hit ride takes ? will it be like being adaptive sport mode all the time ?

someone on the german forum said something similar - running 21s with lowered suspension is like the sport mode of AD...

From all of my previous cars that I have lowered 1.5" or less it has never seemed to make much of a difference in ride quality but I have always noticed a slight difference in handling. If you lower 1.5" and increase rims from 20" to 22" that would be a harsher ride. I just can't stand the 4x4 look of the X6 and can't figure out why they did not lower the height with the sport pkg. I am sure the M model will be lowered with probably a different suspension as well in addition to bigger turbos allowing output to be much more.
