Loooooveleeee!

Love that matte black! Like a stealth fighter. It would be a great color option. Don't know about the rims though...they look a little small and don't know if the 2 different black finishes go well together.

Weasel 05-18-2009 07:53 AM

The matte black kinda brings out the fender flares and duck tail... but I'm not so sure about the hood vents.

I wonder what exhaust that is on her?

Bozz 05-18-2009 09:12 AM

Wow that makes it a stealthy looking car

X5rolls 05-18-2009 09:25 AM

Nice - this is a great look but the rims look glossy.

ECSTuning_Joe 05-26-2009 02:15 PM

Sooo Hawt!

vinuneuro 05-26-2009 05:03 PM

How do they do these matte finishes, do they not apply clearcoat or something..

X-cellent 05-26-2009 05:26 PM

Looks like the AC Schnitzer Falcon body kit and I'm pretty sure it's thier exhaust as well and yes they have those same hood scoops (which are terrible) AC Schnitzer/BMW Cars/Products - Models/X6/E71 Falcon (since 2008)/General Info ... Hamann Wheels...Lot's of dough in that car...with all the work I would assume it was painted, not wrapped in a matte black finish.

There are professional paint products available to give the matte finish, even flat finish clear coat. Or it could be the vinyl wrap we saw on some other threads that can be peeled off years later.

With all that money spent on the vehicle one would think to lower the suspension to suite the body kit.

odgaard 05-28-2009 05:11 PM

needs different wheels and a slight drop

rrjj 05-30-2009 10:45 PM

i have pictures from a matte black X6 from austria

One way to achieve a matte finish is to just use the black base coat from a two stage paint. However, there are several ways to get that look.

packetsight 06-01-2009 12:42 PM

a company in Salzburg make this with film.

Matt looks so good ... WHEN IT IS CLEAN. Once it starts being the "magnet to dirt", you'll hate it. And because there is no clear coat, don't expect cleaning to be so easy. Plus, the clear is meant to PROTECT the base paint, so...

You guys are gonna love these pics (credit to www.top-car.ru)...

Weasel 10-19-2010 01:06 PM

They now make matte finish clear coat to give this look while being a full paint job with clear. That way it washes like normal etc. If you want to go for this look, just do it right and you won't have any problems.

lex99frc 10-19-2010 03:11 PM

so sickk

X5Sport 10-25-2010 05:05 PM

I saw a pair of brand new OEM M3 convertibles in my local dealer with this matte finish, one in Grey and one in Black. There is one catch anyone choosing needs to be aware of, which hadn't occurred to me but is kinda obvious when you think about it. Under no circumstances are you allowed to apply any kind of polish as it makes the finish go shiny which ruins the paint job! And yes, it is a matte clear coat.

Do those photos in LeMans first post look like a photoshop to anyone else besides me?

You mean the matt X6? Not me. Looks like any other X6 with a AC Schnitner body kit.

Yeah, something about the headlighs, wheels and other items looked a bit "off" to me for some reason.

Prlly just the pictures. Those are the Falcon wheels and the Falcon body kit. Could be the matt paint or the wheather throwing you off.
