Tow Bar Pricing

I have just had a quote for my local dealer to fit the removable tow bar kit to my X6, They are Quoting 10 hours fitting time, cost is £600 parts total with labour £2150 , has anyone else had it fitted and is this about the right price

Thanks

I got a qoute from the dealer of $2300 for my 2002 X5.

I went to my local Camper/Trailer Distributor and they quoted for a draw tite hitch with 2inch reciever around $650... I think that more better. I am having it done on tuesday I'll post some pictures then.

I did mine ('01 X5) myself and it was VERY easy. Certainly can't imagine how the dealer could possibly justify $2000 in labor (or was that total cost?). I think I paid ~$650 for the hitch kit and maybe $30 for tools- I bought a set of Torx socket/bits in order to have the proper size Torx bit.

Any independent shop could do the install at a considerably lower labor rate than the dealer.
