New IDrive Nav Question: Night Mode

Hi -

Anyone know if there is an auto setting for Nav to switch into night mode? I see in settings how to turn it on manually..

Try the options button next to idrive while in Nav. ;)

Yep --

That's where you can manually set to night mode -- same as "slide right" while on the nav map..

No auto set from day to night though...Not a screaming, big deal, but something BMW should have built in...

Lexus and Acura has set it in auto, if you so desire.

I think you can set it then save it to one of the memory buttons.
Haven't tried it, but I'm heading to the garage now to see if it can be done.

Still not "auto" but at least it's only one button push if you can do it.

It bugs the S$@t out of me that there's no auto night setting. Even my 99.00 Garmin has auto night setting.

Our 35d is permanently in night mode. SA says that it is because we have real time traffic info active. Anyone else heard this?

I'm pretty sure that's not night mode.
It gray scale in traffic mode.

Turn off traffic view, you'll get your colors back.

It's not exactly gray scale as there are plenty of colors. It is just dark and hard to differentiate map features.
