Possible new X6 owner

Hi everyone!

This my first post on the board and I need some input on the X6. I have been considering the X5 50i, the new Cayenne S and the X6 50i for my next vehicle. I have driven the X5 and the Cayenne, but haven't found an X6 to drive yet. I have always loved the looks of the X6 and feel like it might be time for me to get one! I have some questions: I have 2 Bernese mountain dogs that will ride on occasion and need to know if there is enough room in the back with the rear seats folded and do the rear seats fold flat? Also, is there more room in the back than the X5? I just wasn't impressed with the room with the seats folded and they don't really fold flat. I'm not worried about the sloping roof. I will be getting one loaded with all the goodies. I understand there will be a refresh for 2012. Any insights on what they will be offering?

Thanks in advance! I've been lurking here for a while and it's a great board!

Jen

Here are some pics I found on net. Not mine but should give you an idea on space. Credit goes to X6 owner who made effort to do this.

As far as what? Cargo space? Unless it's a turbo, those pesky Peppers got nothing on me....;)

Jen, much less headroom in the X6 cargo area for the dogs. My German Shepherds can either sit with a crooked neck pressed up against the glass or stay down - but they now realize that lying down is the best option. The X5 allows them more space and headroom - so they can stand. I rarely let the back seat down - don't want them flying passed me and hitting the windscreen should I need to stop in a hurry, also keeps the cleaning of the X6 confined to the cargo area afterwards ;)

Cheers,

Cheers,

Thanks! I have to split fold the seats because one dog likes to sit in the seat and look out the window and the other likes to laydown unless she sees a motorcycle, then she barks like crazy! I like both the 5 and 6, but the 6 is more unique, don't see that many on the roads and love the design. Either way, they'll need a ramp to get in. One thing I wasn't crazy about on the X5 is the fold down tailgate, I like the hatch better. I have found one to drive and checkout the interior, then I'll make my decision! Thanks again!

Another point Jen, I actually likes the X5 with the split tailgate, as the dogs could easily jump on and they didn't scratch the painted rear surface. Unfortunately its not there with the X6 - so when getting the dogs in or out, fold your liner over the rear surface to prevent any damage. Otherwise have some 3M applied to the top part of the rear bumper.

Let us know what you decide!

Cheers,
