X6 performance package??? HELP
 

Can anyone give me any info on this? Is this available in the states? Is a dealer or factory potion? I have been calling dealers and my SA and no one knows or has even heard of it. Can anyone help?

Yes it is available in the states. I have it on my 2010 50i. I believe 7RR is the code, factory option.

Thank you. Do I tell the sa at the dealer that the code is 7rr will he know what that means? Will it stay as a dealer or factory option in 2011?

You're welcome. Just give the SA the option code. I have no idea about the 2011s. I can't imagine it being a dealer option though.

BTW - this thing is a beast. :D Where in NY are you? I'm going to have a twin running around out there. Are you going to stick with black?

I am in westchester NY. I am currently in a 08 x5 4.8 in grey. And after 4 x5's I am making the switch. I am planning on a all Black x6 5.0 in march with the upgrade. Black with red. Will probably be the choice.

I had 3 X5s before this. My last one was an '08 4.8. No looking back. This is by far the best vehicle I've ever had. I love it. It's completely different from driving the X5. My X6 is a '10 50i Sapphire Black Metallic with Black Nappa and brushed aluminum trim.

You should look into the performance center delivery. I had a blast.

I'm also on my 3rd X5 and just made the switch. I have the X6 5.0 on order. Should be finishing production any day now!

What is performance center delivery?

You pick it up at the plant in SC. You pay your airfare to get there. They pick you up at the airport in a BMW. Put you up in a hotel, give you dinner (they suggest you arrive the night before) and breakfast the morning of.....

Then they shuttle you over to the plant. You get a plant tour, take delivery of your new baby AND.....They give you driving instruction. Emergency braking exercises, a mini road course and a skid pad. For everything except the skid pad, they put you in the same type of car you bought. For the skid pad yhey put you in a 3 series.

Then you get to drive home.

Regarding the 7RR performance option....i believe it's no longer a factory option but now a dealer option (software).

So the exhaust is only for the 6 cyl?? I thought it was for both engines.

Getting close to my order month and still no one knows about the performance package. My SA is clueless I don't know what to do. Anyone try ordering this yet?

I don't know much about this except what I have read here, but just from the above posts:

• It used to be a factory option, now it is a dealer option. That suggests that your sales advisor may not know much about it, as it will be purchased through the parts/service area. There is a price given in the link for the option, and it notes that labour is not included, so they will have to build a service department quote.
• Not all dealers appear to have access to the performance options; on the link above for dealer accessories, it invites you to enter your zip code to search for the nearest dealer that does carry it. Perhaps your dealer doesn't. Try the search.
• For the 50i, it is only software, not exhaust
• The software only applies to vehicles built up to 4/10. Maybe there is a different part number for later models, but it may not be available. To find out, first you need to determine which dealers in your area have access to the performance options.
