Rattling noise from underneath X6
 

Had this annoying rattling/creaking noise coming from under carriage area when going over uneven roads below 30km/hr. Bring it into the dealership and they diagnosed that something in the plastic covering in the tailgate is loose. Fixed that with sound padding stuff. Took it back and within a couple of days the sound is back. Brought it in a second time and they told me that the brake assembly needs cleaning including the anti-roll bars..etc.. Fixed that and still the sound persist. Before I waste more time sending back to dealership..anyone experience similar annoying knocking/rattling sound at low speed? At high speed...or good roads..everything is fine. Sound seems to come from below the seats to the rear section.

Any bros help will be much appreciated.

Maybe its the wastegate??? I have a 2011 x5 35i and it makes a rattling noise during under load. You have to rol down your windows to hear it. Sounds like a can full of coins.

Thks for tips. Did not sound to me like a can of coins. More like randomly running a stick along a meshed fence...a very short burst. Always lasting not more than 2 secs. I will try it with my window down to hear it better. For the wastegate issue, what's the fix? Was it done free under warranty?

I have that problem, sound like a ban coming from under the x, and the rattling noise seam like that's coming from the front end. O have been trying to find the problems to no avail. I have 2003 x5 4.6 with over 20000km can any one help

its not the waste gate, something else, not axle not the sway bars. or the control arms, upper or lower, could be coming from the tranny !!!!!! its like a popping sound happen when the x5 is moving coming to a stop or taking of, i know i have that rear ended problem, but im hearing another sound like it coming from the front!!!!
