I got dinged!

I made it a year and half without a mark. My first one. I HATE PEOPLE!

Carry on

mrbmwx5 05-26-2011 01:55 PM

Move to Michigan..........lol

rayxi 05-26-2011 02:15 PM

When I read the title I though you were posting about a speeding ticket. LOL.

Door dings suck but that's life in the big city. Take a deep breath.

wallyx5 05-26-2011 03:53 PM

That's sucks. I agree with you. It is really disappointing when some mindless idiot slams their door into you. I wish there is some kind or recourse.

cmyX6go 05-26-2011 03:58 PM

I know it's only a ding, but it makes me mad, I am soooo careful. I search for the perfect end spot or park over the river and through the woods at the far end of the parking lot just to stay clear of everyone else. And I never to that hog two spots thing that just makes people mad.

It chipped the paint too.

Sounds like time for an X6M!

18 months to go but I was thinking the same thing. Interested in assuming my lease?

Wanna take it to my dent guy, Bruno?

My car is currently under his care--he does an amazing job. Lmk I'll give you contact info

cmyX6go 05-26-2011 07:50 PM

Thanks Naz. Open Road has a dent guy that does good work. He worked wonders on my brothers B7. I'll have them take care of it my next oil change. It's really small, it just annoys me. My E70 went back without a mark on it. And two days before my '05 E53 got wiped out while parked, the valet guy at the dealer walked around her with his little clipboard 4 times looking for something and I told him "Go ahead - there's not mark on her" PFFFFT.

Ahh I know you take great care of your Xs.

Bruno does all the work for Paul miller, he may be cheaper than the dealer guy bc the dealer will put a premium on to get a piece of the action.. Either way, glad to hear you'll be getting it fixed. Enjoy!

Going 18 months without a ding is absolutely impressive in the tri-state.

Bummer.

pnoyako85 08-03-2011 11:40 PM

i usually park away from cars....like all the way at back if possible to avoid dings..or usually when i see a curb side..i usually stay inches close to curb than the line ..so those assholes dont ding my precious bmw...lol..and i always check all around the car before i leave the space and if i ever see a ding..the car next to me gets it...lol...if i see my paint on his car door or somewhere.

edco 08-06-2011 10:59 AM

Naz: I agree Bruno is the WIZARD. Just last weekend a buddy of mine drove up from Exit 69 on the GSP, picked me up in Metuchen, and drove up to Bruno's new location in Elmwood Park.

I don't know when you saw him last, but he lost like 60 lbs since the last time I saw him to take a ding out of my wife's E46 vert.

L, I second the opinion. I know the guy that does Open Road, and while he is good, Bruno is truly the "gold-standard" in PDR.

Hope all is well,
ed

my car had a dent in the door when i first got it..still does, things ain't cheap to fix ya know.motivates me to park at the far end of the parking where there are at least 3 spaces between me and the next car when i go to work,or anywhere for that matter lol

I have my E61 in for body work. It was keyed, has bumper scratches and dents on driver and passenger doors. I am having Habberstad BMW do the work since it was in for other service.

They gave me a 2012 528 with a turbo 4 it is a really nice car and is much nicer than a 2011. I have put over 1,000 miles on it and average 32 MPG on a trip to Maryland.

I was supposed to pick it today but the service rep said he did not like the work on the passenger side door and sent it back.

I probably am paying a little more for the body worth but the quality of service and the loaner car makes it worth while. I drive 25 miles to Habberstad and am happy to do it for the quality of service.

Got the car back they did a great job can't even tell where the work was done.

It is like a new car!

alexmish 07-17-2012 07:58 AM

I got dinged too - in my own driveway, by my wife, by door of her rental 2-door car which she swang out too wide.... (in a furry of getting out from her rental POS instead of her 335 which was in body shop at that time) :(

....Call bruno. PM me for details

X5Ghost 07-29-2012 11:58 AM

I feel your pain and I hate it too. My solution, I park far and walk! Saves the dings and it is a good habit for exercise.

cmyX6go 07-30-2012 07:03 AM

So do I. I park at the far end of parking lots in the ideal spots. You know the ones at the end of the isle where there is either a curb I can get right up on or with zebra stripes I I can partially cover so someone parking next to me has PLENTY of room. Never fails, I come out and someone feels compelled to park over my line right on top of me! :banghead:

And I never take up two spots. That is just asking for trouble.

TriX5 08-11-2012 05:28 PM

And I thought I was the only one parking at the farthest end of the lot and having some idiot come and "hug" my car......
