X6 Reliability!
I was a previous 03 x5 owner and regretted getting the vehicle becuase it was a lemon. I am thinking about getting a 10' x6, but was wondering about their relaibility. I noticed in this forum not many people complaining about costly repairs or the lack of reliability compared to the x5 forum.
Should i stay clear from the x6 or go for it? |
X6 is the same as the E70 X5. More posts in that forum, so read up on it there.
2010 models are all still under warranty; not sure if your 2003 was recent or owned back when it was newer. |
I owned the 03 x5 way back then. The minute i bought it was a nightmare. What do you think of the high milege x6 around the 40K range? Thx

I had a 2010 X6 50 for three years. The only problem I had was a hole in the intake boot. It put me out of commission for a while because there was a national back order on the part. Of course I had a loaner but...
Other than that, it was the best vehicle I ever had. I lease, and I'm never out of warranty so I can't comment on long term ownership. Enjoy the ride. |
My 2010 built (MY2011) X6 has only had a problem with the paint - incorrectly repaired by the UK Delivery Centre at new and has needed a security update to help minimise thefts.
Other than a single instance of the dash failing to boot up properly (cause still unknown) it's been absolutely fine. My E53 on the other hand was an expensive and fault prone embarrassment and was always in the shop. |
I hope i can have good luck like you when i get my x6. My old e53 is making me gun shy due to the constant repairs i had to make.
