First X7 test mule sighting. BMW is using a next generation 7-series with some added weight on hood and roof to simulate the additional SAV weight as a X7 entry level test mule. Expected to be launched in 2018. X7 is supposed to be heavily based on G11 2016 7-series.

Assuming the 2016 7 series will be revealed a few months before it becomes available (which should be in about a year from now, right?), we might be seeing design cues of the X7 soon!

G11 7-series will debut at Frankfurt Auto show next year, with a press release much earlier than that. I hear the next 7-series has gone on diet.

Looking forward to the press release... All BMWs should go on a diet, especially their SAVs. I hope the X7 starts lean from the get go.

Anyone has seen a test mule of this thing (other than the 7 series mule with the extra weights) or is it too early for that?
