South Florida Meet anyone?
I would love to get together with other X owners in south Florida. I have no idea what the membership in South Florida is?
Anyone keen to have a meet? - |
AWD,
I'm in Naples, (the middle class, Rif-Raf section), until the last week of April, for this season. There are a couple/few others of us down here...not sure of definition of "south FLA", but if when can pick a date/loc. I'd be in. BR,md |
Has anyone received their 2006 Hurricane Season schedule yet? May want to schedule it early summer...How far is everybody from Sebring or Moroso?...maybe we could do it in conjunction with Sunshine Bimmers or SafeMotorSports and get some track time in.

I'm buttoning up the FL Starter Shack and outta here before 'Cane Season. |
I'm busy installing my shutters at the moment! - I'm in Coral Springs - (Ft Lauderdale Area) I certainly do not mind driving an hour or two to a meet!
I'm easy on dates at the moment |
Maybe June? Too soon to set up something in conjunction with a track club, but would likely beat the first hurricane. Sebring is actually dead center for all of central and south Florida. I am trying to get registered for the May 27th track day at Sebring with Safe Motor Sports...I don't see how it could be an issue to do a meet there from a spectator standpoint. Should I email the contact at Safe Motor Sports and ask if they would mind?

Sounds like a deal! - let us know what happens - Siebring is about an hour and a half away from my place - really nice up there!

Chuck Babel from Safe Motor Sports replied that anyone who wanted to show up in X5s at their event in Sebring in May was welcome to co-mingle and raft up. Registration for track time is almost always filled before the event and you will need a certain type of helmet, so keep that in mind if you want to drive. The link is www.safemotorsports.com
Now, who knows about organizing this stuff? Pity our retired members with management experience will be conveniently out of state...although there is daily non-stop service from Asheville to Orlando... |

of ya'll. I used to have some serious MgmtExp...however,most of those skills and understanding have eroded considerably in the past 6 yrs. I've de-volved to being a current freakin Bum, I must report. A, if you or, anyone does go, make sure you have a Snell '95 approved or, newer lid: all these local racer for a day places will not let you run with a DOT approved only lid. Stupid freakin rules. Yeah, the Snell is sooo much better when you roll 5000 lbs of steel and gasoline at 128 mph.
