One more NJ GTG before it gets too cold, at my friends shop..

Yikes it's almost NOVEMBER !!!

I've recently gotten to know a very cool guy named Sean who owns SRAudio in Lebanon, NJ. At my request he has agreed to host a GTG at his place in on Rte 22 on Saturday Nov 17 10AM-4PM.

He's got company reps from Alpine bringing some of their latest BMW X5 "toys", some new NAV/AV system, Compustar, and some other high end wheel vendors.

Now, for the record, I am not in business, nor have any association with SRAudio, but you may recall a recent post where I was desperately seeking a recommendation for an alarm/remote start installer for my kid brother's recently acquired Mazda Tribute. (Now stop being so snobbish, he doesn’t make much money and it's a fine vehicle for his needs!). I brought my X5 along, and we got to talking, and I quickly realized he's smart, fair and solid.

So it's going to be getting cold out soon. If you are interested (he's trying to get a headcount for food, giveaways, etc), please post a reply adding your name.

We'll probably have our last chance to see each other's whips before the winter shoes go on and the wait until the ice melts.
Sean's putting together a terrific meet and greet with techs and reps from the top brands and you'll see demos of new products so you'll know what to ask your significant other to buy you for the holidays. But there is no "hidden selling agenda". He's doing this for me as a favor..

Giveaways, free food, beverages, etc.. a chance to show off your whip, and meet some new (and not so new friends) before the year is over.

Again, I am not associated with SRAUDIO, and am not making any money off this GTG other than to give back to the board.

Feel free to pass this word along, I think if we can get 10-20 cars, it would be fun way to close out 2007.
Start time at 10AM. Coffee, Donuts, etc.
SRAudioworks.com is in Lebanon, NJ (very easy to get to by the way Rte 287, 78, 22 - bingo)
Link to Google Map: http://www.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&...22 Lebanon, NJ

PS:
Michelle, Wagner and the MD crew..This is "pretty darn close" to a do-able drive for you guys.. PlayerPro and the NY/NJ crew that missed the last dinner with me wearing the lovely Laura birthday hat, you have no excuse..

Looking forward to seeing everyone, and I promise you a good time !

NEED TO KNOW WHO IS INTERESTED ASAP:
1) edco and Mrs. edco

AzNMpower32 10-30-2007 10:30 PM

Sorry, I can't make it :(. I'll either be staying on campus that weekend, or even if I make it home the night before (skipping 2 days of classes the following week), I won't be up for the drive.

I hope y'all understand why, as a college student, I can't make most of these meets.

Now if you wanna come down to Charlottesville, that's another story. But then you'll be desperately bored unless you want to look just at scenery. Better yet, hold it in Chapel Hill, NC because there's actually stuff to do there.

Hey guys:
Thanks for the maybe's (and the definites).

BTW, since my wife drives the 325Vert, we also hang out at E46Fanatics.com, and I've gotten about 5-10 folks from there dropping by so far, so it'll be a pretty nice Bimmer partee.

If anyone happens to have a digital movie camera, please consider bringing it along. I believe some memorable moments may be captured.

Michelle:
My wife just told me she found a special "gift" just for you as a special incentive to make the drive.. Cant tell you what it is, but I can say it's "G" rated (just in case you were wonderin')..

FYI, Directions are available on Shaun's website: http://www.sraudioworks.com

Shaun:
If I can help with prep in the morning, please let me know. I can pick up coffee, etc on my way there. Just let me know..

Looking forward to seeing you all in a few..

Hmmmm....will we be able to hardwire my cold weather ballasts during this GTG? My new cold weather ballasts have different connectors than my original ones and need to be hardwired.

Heck no, Charles! Most of the people on the Rsvp list are out-of-staters!!! That'd be great if you could attend!

My AE's are not working & haven't been for some time now.
I have told JLevi that my rings are defective...and still no AE'S.

I go through way too many ballasts for it to be that issue...

I still have the original non-cold weather ballasts that were installed back in June. I've had the set of cold weathers to replace since July, but haven't had a chance to. Since the connectors are different, I need to hardwire by soldering them, but don't have access to that.

:hijack:

That's great that your AE's are still working! I've had problems with mine since day one. I'm sure somebody at the event can do that for you...I hate how the connectors are different. I was able to do my second set of ballasts bc they were the same & it was easy to do.

I think I've tried 4 ballasts on blackbeauty...

ok, back to talking about the event ya'll!

I LOVE that hat.. I wear it around the neighborhood to embarrass my wife and son.. My street is becoming known as "the block where the guy with the candle hat lives"..

I'm thinking about creating my own magazine "CandleHat Monthly"..

Guess I'll have to bring it along next Sat for everyone to see..

$1 to try it on, $5 to have a picture taken with it on your head..

Cheers !!

Phil maybe you should come down

I would like to get the x ready for winter, how many car would have to want a detail job for you to think about it ? and if so put me on the list
1- suaveX5

detailersdomain 11-11-2007 07:39 PM

well I would be in let's figure out how to do this....

If I can get a location in Queens or in NJ by Teterboro would that be something everyone would be interested in?

It doesn't have to be on the same day...sorry about the thread jacking..

edco 11-11-2007 10:41 PM

Suggestion for Phil

Phil:
I think it's a great idea for you to come to Lebanon, so that you can schedule a BUNCH of winterize jobs. (I know I'm interested and I have 2 cars, as you know)

I'd suggest however, that you contact Shaun at SRAudio.

Maybe you and he can work it so you can set up a table or something which outlines your various options (maybe even some discount coupons if your interested - keep in mind that they will be MORE than just the X5World attendees.. I have about another dozen or so from E46Fanatics, plus some Audis, Miatas, and maybe some MBs.

I only make my suggestion because I know that Shaun has a number of vendors coming (JLAudio, Compustar, a couple of wheel cos), so he's probably open to putting you into the mix if he knows in advance.

Feel free to mention me in your communication as Shaun has put this event together at my request.

His contact information is below:
Shaun Reilly - President
SR Audio, LLC

(F) 908.437.1317

Thanks and looking forward to seeing you there..

detailersdomain 11-11-2007 10:48 PM

I would have to get a commit list because i would be bringing 5-10 guys and they will want to get paid :)

So if we do a winter detail group buy this is probably not going to be the most effective set up. I would not want to rain on Shaun's parade.

I agree completely which is why I mention it...

Why not come ALONE and introduce your offerings to 30-40 folks (SOME of whom may not know you and ALL of whom are driving distance to Lebanon).. Seems like a good marketing opportunity to me...

But you know best..

Thanks for making the trip..

It was great seeing everyone (especially Charles and Michelle for their long rides in to Lebanon, NJ)..

BTW, as we were leaving we saw the Lambo get pulled over by the local LE.

I'll have to check the E46 Fanatics board to see what he got nailed for.. (EDIT: According to the posts on E46 he got NOTHING but a warning doing (alledgedly nearly 200MPH on 22)

Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving !

Please post your pix

There were about 25 cars throughout the day.. One crew that Infamous was part of was about 12 cars (quite an entrance), Michelle came up from MD, and there were another 4-5 X5ers (mine, Laura, John, Charles), my friend bought his Miata, and a few other odd makes/models.

Pretty good turnout for a relatively quick invitation to event..

Shawn (SRAudio owner) had the rep from Alpine with a well loaded X5 in the bay..and about a dozen aftermarket wheels..

Nice day too..
ED

Infamous 11-17-2007 11:21 PM

Damn I didnt know an alpine rep was there. Guess I was too busy making a scene with my cars. Shawn is a great guy and I wish him the best there. It was nice meeting everyone. Ed I am not part of the crew I am the leader LoL. Jiggsy Customs is my shop LoL. THe S600 and the Murci are my personal cars.

I just merged onto I-83 South off of Route 30 and felt the car shaking uncontrollably. I checked the side mirror and saw tons of smoke and the X started pulling to the right. I pulled off to the shoulder and called my insurance who sent a copy to sit behind me and a tow truck. He put the X on a rollback and we went to a shopping center parking lot to change the flat. :saad:

vinuneuro 11-17-2007 11:39 PM

Looks like your tires are pretty worn anyway Michelle. No biggie.

You guys had this huge meet and no one took pics?

Michelle 11-17-2007 11:41 PM

Yeah....I was going to call on Monday for a new set. But....sitting on the tiny shoulder of a major highway for an hour as cars, trucks, tractor trailers, etc fly past at 90mph isn't something I'd call "no biggie." I don't think I've every prayed so much in all my life!

Infamous 11-17-2007 11:43 PM

Damn how far out were you? couldnt you have called someone from the meet for some help?

Leader of the crew..A motley crew? What was I thinking !? (haha)

So (pardon my ignorance) what is Jiggsy Customs? And where..?

BTW, I'm truly happy that you walked away unscathed from the police. That can ruin a day.

:saad:

Sitting on the side of the road is not fun. That sucks. Glad you're OK.

definitely had a great time. I think I'm going to open up my own mortgage company tomorrow so I can buy a lamborghini..LOL

Infamous 11-18-2007 11:06 AM

I do everything. Wheels, audio, bodykits, lighting. light performance work. I have a small place in Staten Island that I do the work out of. It is not my everyday job so I do it for the enjoyment of seeing the cars I work on being appreciated at meets and shows.

Kewl X5 11-18-2007 01:39 PM

Michelle, I know I'm late to the game, but sorry to hear that happened. I did warn you yesterday that I really didn't like the looks of your tires....however, I remember talking to BimmerE53 yesterday and the only thing he wished the E53 X5 had more of was cargo room. I explained that the reason the cargo space was smaller was that BMW engineer put in a full-sized spare underneath the inside of the cargo floor!

So after changing three flat tires by myself in the past in the X5, I really appreciate the design of the X5 spare tire well. The spare tire is protected from the elements unlike other SUVs which stick it on the outside of the car.

Glad you finally made it home....now that was time to have a Patron shot....

Thanks for having the GTG. Even though I had a short amount of time to be there, it was a pleasure meeting you and your wife! :)
