I've found that 20-40 mins can be shaved off the Yahoo, et al, driving time predictions IF you don't hit crummy traffic, accidents or too much road work crap.

Be careful on I-81 in VA: lots of spots for the RevenueCops to hide on the dips and dos on side of the highway...if they are "out" that day, they can be ferocious.

You got it, brother!! It's a LOT better to come down the 78-->81-->77 way than to come down I-95-->81-->77.

Now, when you get to Gold Hill Road (and, I'll post this again later, but since you're planning already):

1. Make a right at the light at the top of the off-ramp.

2. Travel approximately two miles to the Gold Hill Road and Highway 160 intersection. There is an Eckerd Drug, a Sunoco gas station and a Wachovia bank brank there. You can't miss it. Gold Hill Road becomes Tega Cay drive after you pass this intersection. Stay on (or merge into) the left lane.

3. Go straight (or, if you're of the persuasion, go gaily forward :D) on Tega Cay drive for approximately .6 of a mile. You will see a REALLY BIG sign that says "Tega Cay." (It's the sign in the middle of the picture here.

4. Immediately after that sign, turn left onto Shoreline Parkway (Lakeshore Development).

5. At the second Stop sign, turn left onto Beach Club Lane. Follow it down, and you'll see the Beach and Swim Center.

Things you should know!!!

- Do NOT speed in Tega Cay! The MINUTE you see that Tega Cay sign, slow down to 35 MPH. We're a small town of 4,000 people and NINE cops!! And, they have NOTHING better to do than to give speeding tickets. (Of course, everyone in TC knows this, so now, they just make their money from visitors, so drive slowly.)

- Your V1 will go off around exit 90 (right at the NC/SC border) on I-77. Ignore it.

- Your V1 will also go off around exit 1 (now in SC, just a mile south from Exit 90 in NC) on I-77. Ignore it.

- So far, only Jeff as RSVP'd to crash at my house. I can accomodate two or three (depending on whether my oldest will be home from college that weekend or not) more of you. The arrangemens will not be luxurious (pull-out couches), but it's free, you'll get a clean, safe place to crash, coffee and donuts, and HD television :D. If you'd like to reserve a couch, let me know!

thanks for the offert juan, i`ll be taveling with my brother-inlaw and we are going to be at one of the local hotel, you are already doing a lot by hosting the meet and it will not be fair to put more load on you... :thumbup:
