CAN I GET A WHAT WHAT! The pressure is on..I feel like the guys on overhaulin who have a few days to get the job done..

X5rolls 06-01-2009 11:34 AM

I can't make it unfortunately but I'll pitch in $20 towards a round on me. I'll sync up with Michelle to get her the Andrew Jackson.

StanF18 06-01-2009 11:42 AM

Anyone bringing kids?

Who is bringing their kids?? I'm going back and forth on whether I should drag my son with me (he is 6), or leave him home with Grandma. Is he going to be bored out of his mind?:dunno:

If I recall, there's no field or anything to kick a soccer ball or toss a football. Just a parking lot, correct?

A few guys are bringing their kids, but there isn't anywhere for them to "play." :(

C's Bimmer 06-04-2009 10:46 AM

Michelle - Looks like I'm only going to be able to stay for a brief amount of time (less than an hour). I probably won't be able to stay for lunch. I was just notified last night that I have to fly to San Francisco for business and am flying out this weekend. If we could maybe do the group photo before lunch, that would be cool. If not, no worries.

Regardless, I'm still looking forward to meeting everyone.

Gerry (Major04) has an infatuation with Supras. He must have gotten lucky in one at some point  I don't think he's coming. In any case, you do not need an X5 to attend. Come on down.

I'm going to get that award. My detail appointment got canceled yesterday because it was raining. WTF? That's what you get when you go to a car wash for a detail. I really need to find a real detail guy.

Michelle, if possible, I second this request as I too dont have a great deal of time to spend as I will need to tend to some obligations for my kids as well back in NY that afternoon. I will be there but not for much more than an hour or so. Pics before lunch as opposed to after would be great. I know some others who are attending have similar issues. If this doesnt work for whatever reason, I completely understand. Looking forward to it.

All the best

Michelle 06-05-2009 12:57 PM

Hey chilliwilli -- Phil was finishing up your X when I dropped mine off yesterday. It looks great!

If everyone arrives by 12:00 or 12:30 we could do the group shot before lunch.

L - Do you want to maybe let Terry know we'll be sitting for lunch closer to 1:00 or just leave things as is?

C's Bimmer 06-05-2009 01:39 PM

Justin and the rest of you LI folks - See you at the Starbucks in Woodbury, next to Major's Steakhouse, at 10:30am, tomorrow morning.

rastaFarai 06-05-2009 06:06 PM

Might be bringing my 4yr old daughter as well - we'll see. If not I can't make the convoy up with the LI folks.. I'm going to keep in touch with Justin. Wifes appt now ends at 11.45am!! But i'll be up early too washing and "detailing" the X..

Michelle 06-05-2009 07:56 PM

FYI everyone -- we will now be taking the group picture at 12:30. We'll start lining up for the shot as everyone arrives at noon.

When you arrive at the Crab Shell, the restaurant will be on your left. Continue around to the parking lot to the right and you'll find us in the open area. (Post #1 has also been updated with this info.)

Picked her up this morning...Phil did a fantastic job. He has pride in his work and it shows.

Saw your X as well (Danica, is it?)...love what you've done to her. When the taxi dropped me off this morning, i wondered what the hell Phil was thinking leaving my X out in the rain...then i saw the Maryland plates  ...looking forward to meeting you all tomorrow.

Sorry, unfortunately I won't be able to make it. My car has started to give me warnings about a low oil level. It was just sporadic, but now it is on all the time. I have a service appointment on Wednesday, so I'm going to keep the miles super low until then. Or if it gets worse, I'll have to bring it in early.

Hope you guys have a great day!

If you checked the oil level and it is good, then it is just a failed oil level/condition sensor and it will be ok to drive. You can change the sensor with the next oil change, it's easy. But don't let that stop you from the meet ;)

I still wish I could make this years... But maybe in the future I can plan a New Orleans meet with our own section of a car show or something! (we always have something going on down here)

If you plan it, we will come! I've always wanted to go to New Orleans. Don't worry Weas, we'll throw back a shot (or two) for you.

Is everybody ready? It's meet day :excited:
