Thank you SO, SO, VERY much!!

I am genuinely touched by you guys' generosity and kindness... We'll never agree on this, but you folks did waaay too much for me. I did not deserve that gift, and I am eternally grateful. It's not often that I am left speecheless. This was one of them... Once again, I cannot begin express my gratitude to you guys.

A very special thanks to JV and Rob who were the driving forces behind the "mod" to Juan's X5. Very sweet, very kind, very classy, too generous. You guys are wonderful. :)

thank you,

Juan

PersonaNonGrata 10-23-2005 06:11 AM

You deserve it Juan. I wholeheartedly agree that the guys are a number 1 classy bunch. They did pull off an incredible surprise for you. You are going to love the M steering wheel and I know you've been lusting after one but didn't want to spring for the round airbag. Now you've got it and you certainly earned it. Jason told me what they were up to and I must admit I was very, very excited for you.

Juanted 10-23-2005 06:15 AM

Thanks, man! :)

It's 6 AM on the east coast, which mean it's... well, very early out by you! What in the world are you doing posting this early in the morning?? :D

Juan, It is the least we could do. You went to a lot of effort to put this together. I thank you for putting the event together. To me it was worth the drive even if I was only there a couple of hours. Robbie (my son) loved seeing all the X5s and Jessie (my daughter) cant stop talking about Melissa (girl at clubhouse). They really had a great time too.

I woke up this morning  in the hotel thinking that this X5 meeting was just a dream but thanks to you Juan it was reality :) I did not know when I bought my X5 that not only I was buying a great truck (oups..sorry car) but also that it was going to make me meet such a nice group of people  . It is time for me now to check out and drive back home :driver: with so many good memories of this event in mind. Many thanks again for everything you did Juan and enjoy your new steering wheel.

Thanks, Alain! It was a great pleasure meeting you. You're only a couple of hours from me, so if you're ever back in the area, please look me up. Would love to go have dinner with you again!

The turn-out looked great, wish I could have made it. :(

Congrats on the new Mod! I'll definitely be coming to the next one.

AutoXer 10-23-2005 01:14 PM

I followed your X5 meet online and thanks for keeping all of us informed. Sounds like a great time, glad to hear you were surprised! Great job

Juanted 10-23-2005 01:40 PM

We had 18 adults, plus my son and Phillip's son and daughter. Unfortunately, we had a couple drop off at the very last minute. Overall, though, for the first "official" (Jeff, Drex and Eugene did this three years ago, I believe?) X5World Meet, I think the turnout was very good. We can hopefully grow it and make it better each year. :D

Again, thank you all for coming, and thank you all so much for the gift. What I received was certainly NOT commensurate with what I gave. Thanks to all of you!

Juan

SANguru 10-23-2005 02:38 PM

Juan you do deserve it! having put together a meet in the past, it's a lot of work and I'm sure Greg, Kevin, Jeff and Drex can agree! Glad you guys all had fun!

You definitely deserve it, Juan! You did an excellent job putting this meet together. It looks like it was great!

Juanted 10-23-2005 03:41 PM

Thanks, Josh and CJ! I appreciate it. Putting this thing together was a lot of work, but it was enjoyable work, and I am glad I did it. I got to meet some wonderful people and see some beautiful cars. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks SO very much, David! We thoroughly enjoyed it.

For those of you who do not know what MD means: After the 'meet most of us decided to go out for dinner and drinks. The first place we went to was very loud and crowded. We then decided to go to one of the CEO's favorite dinner joints (where she and I had our first date many moons ago). Nice restaurant with a large outside patio. We had a wonderful dinner, got to know each other, talked... but it got a little cold out on the patio. :o That, however, did not take away from the fun! It was great. :)

Art,

You were definately there in spirit with us. We appreciate the door prizes that you sent, and the pecan squares were a huge hit  It just wouldn't be a true X5 meet without them :D

Thanks for being a part of this !!!!

Juanted 10-23-2005 08:52 PM

Thanks for sending us the recipe, Art. We will surely (hopefully soon) cook us some.

Again, thanks for the prizes. Very nice, unexpected touch. :)

I had made a little 8-minute video - "The World of X5 World," and I was showing it to everyone there. A few minutes prior to that, my wife asked me for my keys. No biggie - she does that all the time. I just figured she needed to get something out of the car. Well, obviously, she gave the keys to Rob_. As I was showing the video (and we had some small issues with the DVD player, so that gave Rob an extra 2 or 3 minutes), Rob and JV were in my car furiously replacing the wheel. The thing is, he did not even NEED that much time. He actually came back in before the video was finished! Incredible! :D

We are going to make the movie into a QuickTime movie and post on here sometime this week.

Juan

I meant to mention that I am so glad that it didn't rain on Saturday night. When I got in my X5 to leave for home on Sunday morning I realized that I had left my sunroof open overnight

Fortunately the sprinkers didn't spray that high and there was only a little bit of dew on the seats. :D

Thanks again to you and Liz for putting me up for the night

Holy Cow! :wow: I'm glad your interior was not soaked.

No problem at all! Any time you (or any of these fine folks, for that matter) are in town, please give me a call. I'd love to have you for dinner and some more Fragolino (with fruit this time). :)

Sounds like it was a great time. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to see the look on your face Juan. Now you have to post some pics of your latest MOD!

I will! :D

In the meantime, though, you can check out MD's pics, which do show the new wheel and me with an ear-to-ear smile! :)

Again (I can't say this enough), I want to thank ALL of you who were involved. I'm truly touched. :o
