ChristopherM3 12-30-2005 12:34 PM

I know JV is already planning the next meet in the DC area. I think sometime in May? Really looking forward to it.

Juan

JV 12-31-2005 01:20 AM

Looks like we'll be shooting for the second weekend in May. I found a place to host all of us and our rides, and soon I'll be getting a head count and you all can call dibs on my guest room, futon in my den, or big ass couch!

EVERYONE is invited, X5, X3, US or International, East or West Coast.

If you're on the fence on attending- don't worry about running with a bunch of geeks with BMW pocket protectors- the group at Juan's meet in October was about the levelest bunch of people you could imagine.

Looking forward to it, JV!! :)

Let me know if there is anything I can do for 'ya. You got my number. Call me if you need me.

Yup. I think a few people previously stated that the first weekend in May wouldn't work out. Same with Memorial Day weekend.

Hope you can make it! You're only an hour away!

Also, when you DO know for certain, call drex. (PM me or call me... please?)

Hope you can make it, Michelle. We had a great time at the last one. :)

PersonaNonGrata 01-04-2006 04:25 AM

I hope to make it out to the DC meet. I have a good friend who lives in VA within Metro of DC so it will be a dual visit trip. I won't bring the X but I might bring the wife.

I don't wanna get too close to Memorial Day weekend, and a couple of folks have already said the first weekend in May would be a bad one, so I'll say Saturday, the 13th of May is the target.

We can gather around lunchtime, I'll have my buddy, Hiroshi, make some fresh sushi for us there, Eugene's wife will (fingers crossed) make some lumpia, and I'll have some other yet to be announced foods. Imported beers and the finest domestics will be on ice, along with some non-alcoholic selections. I'll have some local vendors on hand to do some on-site mods if there's interest. I was thinking of getting the bikini car-wash girls to stop by for an hour to clean the rides. I can ask them to bring a guy in a banana-hammock for the ladies too.

We can all caravan into DC that evening to have dinner on the waterfront, next to all the monuments and museums, and maybe Sunday, whoever's interested can also do brunch?

I'll get with the admins to make this a sticky soon, with more concrete info as it becomes available.

LOL, I'd rather have the bikini girls over the banana-hammock guys anyday! Banana-hammocks are just WRONG!

BMERGRL 01-05-2006 09:54 PM

I'm with Michelle!!!!!! Just say NO to Banana-Hammocks!!!!

JV 01-05-2006 10:01 PM

Alright, ladies, no banana hammocks! VA is a pretty conservative state, we probably have a law banning those, anyhow. :D

HAHA that is so true! Make sure you remind everyone to hide their radar detectors when we meet!

Juanted 01-05-2006 11:19 PM

So long as we still have the bikini car-wash girls. :D

Michelle just shared this thread with me. Shame on me, I had not even noticed this new forum yet :bustingup . Thanks Michelle! Kevin, I'm interested in attending as well, so let's keep in touch re: hotels etc...

Juanted 01-14-2006 12:29 PM

Greg,

Would love to see you and Kevin attend the DC meet -- even if I AM a little jealous that you two could not attend the one in Oct. :o

Hope you can make it, though. It'd be great to have you two there, though... you know, two of the "original refugees." :D

Since flights will no doubt be expensive, free room and board could make the decision easier :bustingup

SANguru 01-14-2006 03:26 PM

damn.. I'll be in Toronto on the 13th... we'll see if I can get out of that meeting or make a quick detour.

That is cheap, and you flying into BWI, you're less than an hour from the meetin' place. We also have two other airports here: National (DCA) and Dulles (IAD) if anyone is thinking of checking ticket prices.

For anyone checking hotel prices-
closest to the meet(within 10 miles):
Hilton Old Town Alexandria- $149 per night
Courtyard Alexandria- $129 per night
Sheraton Old Town- $139 per night
Ritz Carlton Pentagon City- $199 per night
Hawthorn Suites Alexandria- $97 per night
Red Roof Inn- $85 per night
Courtyard Springfield- $109 per night
Hampton Inn Springfield- $93 per night
Springfield Hilton- $89 per night

Thanks for checking. It's all about justifying the expense. For those $$, I could visit my brother and his family in Denver twice, get it ? :)

Wagner 01-16-2006 09:29 AM

My wife is a manager at AAA and get deals on just about anything travel related....since I'm lazy and don't read much :) haha, where is the meet being held and when?

LeMansX5 01-16-2006 10:30 AM

How far is Potomac form the meet? I have somebody there where I may get free room.

breytonX5 01-16-2006 11:04 AM

Guys we gotta get MD4.6 to be at the meet as well. She claims to be hotter than some of the FF girls and drives a 4.6. I rest my case. ;)

Is she in Washington state or Wasington, DC?

breytonX5 01-16-2006 01:11 PM

Good question! Hope it's DC.
