I tried searching using your suggestions, but haven't found anything yet. Did you take the fan off (some threads mention that there are two fans, but in my case, it is only one)? Taking it off seems very intimidating I have done this on our 330i, but in this case it is behind the Drive Belt and not much room underneath the X5 to get to it.

Any pictures, videos, DIY, etc. you can point me to?
