I think on the next X I may go with the trailer hitch and then get the mounts that go on the hitch. It's a whole lot easier putting a MTB on that way than the latter.

Agree it's much easier to put them on the rear with the hitch. I have to step on the running board to load/unload being a bit of a shortie (although a giant compared to CJ
).
