BT disconnects after 5 seconds. Android issue or ULF ?
Hi all.
I apologize if this has been discussed before but I can't find a definitive answer.
I have a 2003 M5 (MY 02/03) and retrofitted BT using a 3rd generation ULF (84216934961).
The phone is a Motorola MotoX (first gen. 2013).
The eject box is a newer box with a FAKRA and a female 18 pin ELO (black) connecter. I didn't realize that I needed a male-to-male adapter to make this work (84109205271) so in the meantime I'm jumping pins 1 and 17 to get into pairing mode.
My issue is that the phone disconnects from BT after about 5 seconds. I can manually reconnect, but it will just disconnect after 5 seconds. I can place calls from the nav screen however BT will just disconnect and the call will resume through the phone.
I can sometimes place a call, manually reconnect to BT, and then hear a second of the audio through my car but then it'll just disconnect again.
It does appear that the phone and car can communicate, but the connection isn't persistent.
Some googling tells me that it might be an issue with Android. Or it could be that I'm using an old ULF module.
All I really want is to make phone calls over BT. I don't really care about voice assist. Should I just be looking for a TCU ? If so, what should I be looking for ? I presume I should find one with a PK, which I believe stands for "pairing key".
Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate any pointers you might all have.
Thanks.
