I don't think I have a bad MkII unit, because I bought a used one on the bay and the seller (1800 items sold, 99,6% of positive feedback) told me it was a perfectly working unit. So two MkII units I have at home (the original one and the one bought on the bay) work (
or don't work) the same way.
The bad cable connection is probably the right cause. Sadly, i have no clue of how the nav wiring are done
and I don't even know how to recognize a bad cable if it's not visibly broken.
