Same principle applies to the coil spring. Grab a jack with a block of wood on top and apply upward pressure to the spring perch (not control arm).
This is more as a preventative maintenance check. You should still get your wheels aligned, but if the technician says they cannot get them in spec, or if you get ongoing irregular wear then it's a good indication that a balljoint, or one or some of the rear suspension bushes are flogged.
