After 2750. dollars a mechanic found what may have been the real problem with my 3.0 X5 2001 with 206K miles.
The darn radio has a short, it was drawing down the battery, setting off the ABS/trifecta lights and wacky codes. I hate to think I had to change the ABS module, steering angle sensor and programming that didn't actually fix any of those problems - I pulled the radio tonight and now I need to find a professional, reputable place to have it fixed. I don't imagine Best Buy has the radio or ability to install a new aftermarket. Besides I really like the Media bridge when it works.
Oddly, this issue was also messing up the cruise control. Can you believe it?
A radio. Really BMW?
