It was listed in the eBay page about the core charge. You could have sent him your old core and then you wouldn't had needed to send a core charge, that was the other option listed. \

If he included the core charge with the original listing he would have to paid a Paypal fee for that 150.00. Paypal charges about 3% fee so that would amount to $4.50. If he return your core charge will you expect him to return the total core charge or the core charge -$4.50?

Don't know when you ordered the shaft, but Paypal use to not charge a fee for gifts. I think they have since revised their policy to charge the sender a fee for transferring funds as a gift.

I'm not taking side on this, but most places that rebuild or refurbish car parts always charge a core fee until the core is return. Hell even my local pick n pull charges a core charge on most items plus an environmental fee and local taxes.
