For the extra $100.00 bucks I'll go with a new shaft. Both includes Free Shipping.
I tried going with that extended length driveshaft from Derwang. After purchase he demanded I send him more money(I think about $1-200) as a gift on paypal. I passed and reported him to paypal. Buyer beware

So Sean... your problem/fault has now migrated from a blown front diff, to a possible front drive shaft/giubo and now involves CVs?

He charges a 150 core fee so that you will send back your old core and when he receive your straight core, he will refund the core charge.

If you prefer not to send him the core fee you can send him the old core and he will send you the extended drive shaft once he receive your core.

That should be included in the original transaction. It isn't and the separate transaction is not protected by ebay nor paypal. Not to mention derwangs communications skills are less than stellar.

It was listed in the eBay page about the core charge. You could have sent him your old core and then you wouldn't had needed to send a core charge, that was the other option listed. \

If he included the core charge with the original listing he would have to paid a Paypal fee for that 150.00. Paypal charges about 3% fee so that would amount to $4.50. If he return your core charge will you expect him to return the total core charge or the core charge -$4.50?

Don't know when you ordered the shaft, but Paypal use to not charge a fee for gifts. I think they have since revised their policy to charge the sender a fee for transferring funds as a gift.

I'm not taking side on this, but most places that rebuild or refurbish car parts always charge a core fee until the core is return. Hell even my local pick n pull charges a core charge on most items plus an environmental fee and local taxes.

I understand what a core charge is and i agree is common practice. It doesn't matter in this case. I don't care who eats the fees, sending money as a part of an ebay transaction outside of the original purchase (let alone as a gift) is asking to get scammed. Case closed.

I read his reviews and except for one bad review all the other reviews were good. It appears that he only sell the extended spline or a manufactured drive shaft with the extended spline on ebay. The pictures that he supplied on his eBay listing show the professional welds that he does on the re-manufactured drive shaft. If I needed an extended drive shaft I would have no hesitation ordering from him. I would inform him to add the core charge to the invoice and I would pay the Paypal fee for the core charge.
