This is done to provide MAXIMUM volume (CFM) to the tool @ rated pressure (90psi).

I've seen mechanics up the pressure regulator to remove tough fasteners, dumb move. Housing failures can remove fingers, or worse, getting your hair parted by an impact hammer!.
I was planning on setting it to 105 to account for pressure drop throughout the hose. I know hose very well, I am engineer at a company that manufactures hydraulic (and air) hose and fittings! Was actually going to get my hose, fittings, and quick-disconnects from work! The 3/8" hose is rated for 350 psi WP.
