Good day!

You may need to check voltage on the "retracted" circuit... If the drivers side works correctly, I doubt it is a controller issue... if the motor works on external power, that rules out the motor and the wires he used to connect up the external power... I think there is a broken wire between the controller and the mirror... not a fun job, but there you have it...
