I have Metro Miles as my insurance company for my fleet of cars. They provided me with an OBD II GPS tracking device for all my OBD II vehicles that I have registered with them. The OBD II track the number of miles that the cars are driven and the rate for the cars varies from 2.8 cent per miles to 5.5 cents per miles. Average bill per car is about $20.00+ per months. The GPS also provide the location of the car on a map. I'm sure they can track how fast the car is being driven, but that piece of data isn't available to me.
There are no monthly fee for the GPS other than the monthly insurance fee for each car. The device was also free. Base on the Metro insurance rate for my fleet of cars I went from $1800 a year to just $600 per year. My previous insurance company was State Farm. All my vehicles are used for pleasure only, no daily commute. If you drive under 10,000 miles per year per vehicle the paid by mileage may be a better deal for you instead of the regular auto insurance through a regular insurance company. Rates includes Liabilty, collision and comprehension.
