Question...

After pulling my stiffening plate and seeing all the caked on grimy dirt and oil, I am wondering if it is because of my Oil Filter Cover.

See, the oil drain plug in the cover has been jammed in there for as long as I have had the vehicle, so when I change the oil, I just remove the entire cartridge cover all at once - that's when a lot of oil goes flying.

If you are able to remove the drain plug in the cover first, I would think that will lessen the amount of oil that splashes around.

Is this so?
