The CAS is the Car Access module, it does handle most of the comfort access duties but its main function is key control and general access functions. If you're familiar with BMW's in general it would compared to the EWS module from previous generations.

As mentioned already, you will need to have BMW software and know how in order to adjust the comfort access key allocations within the CAS module. There is no other way to activate the new CA key.
