Yes I did use the beta version and I do tend agree with the post above that was proberly the beta version that screwed it up. I rang my mate(BMW TECH) and told him what I had done and his response "What have you been downloading from the internet now " Also which was quite interesting, he did not know about the secret menu on the NAV but he did say he gets all that info out of the BMW Computer that plugs into the car.

It's the fact that you went down a version i.e. V26--> vT26.09A that put it into 7er mode. You would have had the same issue if you'd gone from V26--> v24, V26-->V25. There are UK users that have needed a recode without ever touching the beta version, but went back a version to get V26 with splash screen.
Don't want to labour the point but if you get it recoded then go V27--> V26 --> V27 with splash screen for example, then I suspect you'll be visiting the dealer again!
