A few years ago I bought my first X5, a 2003 3.0i that reported 124K miles on it, only to find out later that it had been tampered with and it really had something like 195K on it and had been used as a rental vehicle. All kinds of shit started breaking left and right and it got to the point where it was honestly cheaper to pick up another X5, so that's what I did. Ended up with a very well maintained 2001 3.0i without many issues to speak of. However, now I kinda want to fix the scam truck instead of leaving it sitting forever or selling it for ultra cheap as-is, so I paid $500 for a third X5 with a ruined engine to use as a parts car.

My resolution is to get the scam truck running worth a shit and get this parts car out of my driveway!
