The ONLY time I forgot to switch the burner down to the slowest speed, and even using decent Memorex CD-R's in a Panasonic multi, the disk failed to load the update and took me several hours fiddling to get the darned thing out of the drive.
I quite believe those that say - burn at the slowest speed and don't take the risk - for me, haste in burning a new copy and thinking "... it will be OK using that disk, it reads OK on the PC" nearly cost me my Nav Computer.
I still cannot believe whoever designed and manufactured the drive failed to put an 'emergency release hole thingy' like almost every other CD and DVD drive has. Makes the whole thing a bit of a risky business.
