I quite believe those that say - burn at the slowest speed and don't take the risk - for me, haste in burning a new copy and thinking "... it will be OK using that disk, it reads OK on the PC" nearly cost me my Nav Computer.

I still cannot believe whoever designed and manufactured the drive failed to put an 'emergency release hole thingy' like almost every other CD and DVD drive has. Makes the whole thing a bit of a risky business.
