I gave it a go, found a genuine one in Europe for $550aud including shipping and all. BMW want $1100aud after asking for a discount! Will be 3 weeks to get it in from Europe. Will be ok since I suddenly have to go overseas for 2 weeks for work.
So I guess I’ll wait. Not worth the effort to try and plug it for one week. At least now with the split it should be easy to get out
