On us cars, blocking the egr only results in a service engine soon light. My understanding is eu cars are the same. You can remove the cooler with a tune. I’ve done so on my diesel instead of replacing the cooler. I had 4 fail on my car 2 at the accordion pipe. Often the accordion pipe brakes because of faulty mounting bolts for the cooler. There was a recal l at last in the us on those bolts.
