Thanks for the input guys. Good idea about welding up the old one to keep as an emergency backup. I had considered doing the delete, but to do it legally here will probly be more expensive than just replacing it. I think it needs to be tested by EPA for emissions and approved etc. at least we don’t get the DEF system, just the EGR and DPF, they seem to be the worst part of the emissions equipment. So based on what thecastle said, seems like blocking it will work temporarily without a limp home mode and when fixed will have to clear the codes. If my parts have not come when I get back, I will test it out.
